Which areas are Archery only? I noticed only two maps were labeled as bow only, I thought there was more.

3, 6B, 13A, & 16B are archery only area's when they're open. Area's 13W, 13E, and 29 are Archery/Shotgun/Muzzleloader only area's. But you can hunt any of the general area's with bow if you wish to.

As for being up there that weekend, i'm sure i'll be up there hunting quail atleast one day. I'll be up there right after xmas helping a friend with a bull elk tag. I just hope it isn't as cold as it was last year......

Again? You are a glutton for punishment, LOL. One of the bull hunters came to see me yesterday. I warned him about the temperature and he wisely choose billeting rather than the campground. He's pumped as well about the hunt.

Again? You are a glutton for punishment, LOL. One of the bull hunters came to see me yesterday. I warned him about the temperature and he wisely choose billeting rather than the campground. He's pumped as well about the hunt.

Nuts is right lol.. it's cold up there that time of year! But we're helping two VAFB hunters with tags... so it's going to be a fun time. Hopefully they all won't be hiding in the middle of 22 this time. haha

Hey Nick: I talked to Josh and Dave last night and they are both stoked! It looks like I'll be going along, as my wife is on board for the whole thing. Your Dad booked cabins at Deedy's so we should be set. This will be a first for me and I'm looking forward to it. Your Dad and I aren't bringing guns, just helping out Dave (but maybe the bow will find it's way into my truck)

It is a blast and (I'll make a prediction here), it'll be too cold to rain! Honestly, that was the most fun I ever had hunting. I can't wait to see the pictures,.....lots and lots of pictures.

OK, just how cold can it get??? I usually go to Idaho to hunt elk in Oct. and just don't see it getting cold enough here for all the comments.
