Congrats wtpops. We were going to try and find your group of hogs after talking to you and Jesse, but suddenly things changed in the base and we took a 180 detour in the other direction. I thought I was calico guy for the weekend not knowing you were already calico. I guess it's calico weekend.

Congrats on the trad bow pig wtpops. I saw a golden eagle macking on a duck over at the pond north of the cantonement and some carcasses along the shore, that may be what's eating them birds. I just missed getting it on film :smiley_doh:, thing was huge. That area you were in was also where Pete (BigBubbaDaddy) found the cougar graveyard where it was eating hogs and leaving a bone pile. Spooky stuff. BBD, you out there? Longbow kill at FHL, git your bow ready for MLK.

No piggies spotted Sunday, 40 turkeys was all. Couldn't even find any quail or bobcats to play. The window screw up sucked, losing the first 3 hours of the day hurts. Nothing changes I guess, 5 hour drive and wait all weekend to get into a good hog zone and bang. Oh well, I guess we just drive on like usual.

Yes, very nice job Wtpops. I was near that spot (13E) a few days before that. I was toteing an 870 with slugs.

I saw routing and several tracks also. However, I didn't see the pigs. Some of those older tracks were pretty big. Probably your big black guys.

Did you happen to see the old routing signs in the middle of Argyle road. These were old routs obviously made when it was very wet. But I can't say I've every seen this in a gravel road before.

What I could never figure out is were the pigs are getting through the fence when they cross Jolon road from 13W. The MPs at the fort said they see them crossing there quite a bit. One day I plan to walk that fence line looking for the hole. That would be a good spot to sit.

I also was surprised to see little or no activity at the Murry water hole.

Congratulations again!

PS: That bike is a good idea, it's got me thinking

Yea, I had to turn around and head out of the thick several times after creeping around. Did you see any pigskis?

no unfortunately I think they were all in 13W because I saw fresh tracks from one day to another but I think they booked it out of 13E before the morning because I walked the same area a few times and I know for a fact I wasnt the only one walking by the tracks I saw plenty of boot prints that werent mine

That is not a track from the big black guy. It's from a tan guy/gal with white rump.

Nice. The bike is the best thing I did for saving my legs for the hunt when there is a long walk to get to my hunting site. I did have to make some minor changes to it. I’m 6'2" and with the normal straight handle bars that come with most mountain bikes left me bending way over and putting a lot of pressure on my wrists. I got a set of bars with a 5" rise and the new break and shift cables needed to reach the bars once installed. Helped a bunch, now I sit pretty much upright and it’s a lot more comfortable when wearing my pack. Also i carry a small hand air pump and tire repair kit with me,ya never know.
