The Muslims don't eat pork.......but everybody else does......those are lush, green, moist jungles down there that can support tons of wildlife. Almost like Doccherry's Hawaiian hog/turkey/wild cattle/sheep/goat/fowl hunting paradise. Those are different looking wild pigs but they are pork so they taste good. Thanks again for telling us your hog paradise in that part of the world. 'Nuff said.

yes, we do have the biggest muslim population in the world, but not everybody doesnt eat pork.

my buddy the one in the pictures right now is in the oregon, usa. he is dying to hunt in the states before he is graduating from oregon state university. he only got about 4 months left in the states, if any of you can take him boar hunting in states, he would be very very very thankfull.
i also went to the oregon state univ, but i've never got any chance to hunt wild boar in states, i know it is very sad since i dont know when i can be back to states again, i dont want my buddy feel the same with me.

Indoboar, a couple of questions that might help everyone out...including your friend.

First, can he travel and how far? There are a few hogs in Oregon, but not too many. CA is pretty close, and can offer a good hunt but success generally requires private land or guides. Texas is a great bet, economical, and lots of pigs.

Second, what kind of budget does he have? Out of state hunts in CA, for example, will cost a bit over $100 just for tags. Can he afford to do a guided hunt, or is that too expensive?

What is your friend's preferred weapon, and does he own one here?

There are a lot of great folks on JHO, and I'm sure someone would love to step up... but a little info in advance can help.

Hi, i'm indoboar's friend who shot that boar. I'm really interested go hunting wild boar in the states. I don't have any weapon in here. I'm doing research on private land around southern of USA like alabama, texas and florida. But i can't find any information about the weapons rental or anything. I was planning to go to alabama for this summer, so if any one of you can hook me up or help me up to go hunting for wild boar that would be great. 100 dollars for a tag is not a problem for me. Another question, is there any bag limit for hogs?

First thing is to take a Hunter Safety Course and get a Hunter's Safety Certificate so you can buy a hunting license. With your Hunting License issued by your State(Oregon or Alabama or even California or any other State) you can buy an out of state hunting license in any other State(Texas or Alabama or California). With your out of State hunting license, you can hunt wild boar in Texas(I am not sure about Alabama, you can check it out in the State of Alabama Hunting and Fishing website) without having to buy a separate wild boar tag which is an additional expense. I know that a lot of pay to hunt ranches in Texas also PROVIDE THE RIFLE TO HUNT IN CASE THE CUSTOMER DOES NOT HAVE A WEAPON(I don't know about Alabama hunting ranches, you have to do an internet search for Alabama pay to hunt ranches). Without your very own State issued hunting license(Oregon or Alabama) you cannot hunt in any State in the United States. EXCEPT in hunting ranches with FARM RAISED PIGS like Big Horn Canyon Ranch in Riverside, California and in Cedar Canyon Ranch in Tehachapi, California that do not require a hunting license. If you are going to shoot free range, wild boar then you need a hunting license. With pay to hunt Ranches, you contact the Ranch and pay a deposit in advance then set up your hunting schedule and when you arrive, the owner or guide will take care of your hunting needs. The important thing is the possesion of a hunting license and to verify, confirm that the pay to hunt Ranch is reputable and has a history of good service. 'Nuff said and God Bless.

If you're that mobile, then definitely take a look at hog hunting in Texas. I don't know if we have many Texas members on here, but even if you have to do it yourself, it's your best bet for a great boar hunt. The price is pretty cheap for a short-term license, and you can hunt with any weapon from a knife or spear to a big-bore rifle. There are tons of hogs there, and it's probably your best bet of success for the money.
