Went out looking for sheds today since it was my last day before going back to school for 2 weeks. I was hoping the bucks had dropped there antlers before I left so that I could find some before everyone else got to them. In total there were about 5 5x5's, 6 4x4's, and a pile of smaller bucks still packing both sides and only one buck that had shed one antler. A few buck may have shed both already but I didn't want to get to close and spook the deer before they shed. Here are some pics that turned out decent though.

One of the bigger bucks.

A few does running.

A close up of a doe. The sun was straight ahead so there isn't much detail.

I also went looking on Friday in one of my other spots but after 2 hours of walking I hadn't seen a deer or deer track. This same area had more than 500 deer wintering last year so I don't know why they aren't there this year. Here are a few pics of the area.

I then went and checked one other area and and saw a group of 5 small mulie bucks with only the smallest having shed one antler. I decided to go look for this antler anyways but only found this small winter kill.

While driving down a road I saw this pheasant and managed to get a couple of decent pics, heres one.

I use a Panasonic DMC-FZ1. I love the 12x zoom for getting pics of far away deer. The buck in the top picture is about 600 yards away.

Nice! It takes great pics. What mega pixel is it?

I was down near East End last week and it seemed like lots of whitetails are still carrying. I noticed the Mulies starting to drop now though. Saw quite a few 1 antlered bucks. Had trouble getting permission for shed hunting though.

Its just a 2 MP camera but I don't print out my pictures so I don't really need anymore.

I've seen a few small bucks with one antler so far but the big guys still seem to be hanging on. I'm hoping they hang on for 2 more weeks so that there not all gone by the time I get back from school.

Did you ever do any work in the Webb/Cantuar area last spring?

The pics turned out pretty well considering the distance. The scenery looks like river hills around South Sask River or are you down in the far S.W. I'm from MJ But I was raised around Kindersley. If you are ever around the Jaw give me a call I can show you some good areas around here.

The pictures of the coulee are along the Swift Current Creek about 10 miles south of the South Sask River. My parents just bought this land so I'm getting quite exited about hunting it this fall. I've hunted here alot in the past but have always been crowded by a lot of hunters so I'm hoping to find a few places out of the way where others don't go. The land on the far side of the valley is Saskatchewan Wildlife Federation land.

I'm in MJ right now at SIAST for another 2 months and have wondered if there are any areas not to far from here that hold some deer.
