The dang moon was at the top of the sky when I decided to go take a picture. My tripod won't point straight up, so I laid on my back and took the pics handheld. I am going to go out earlier tonight and use my tripod, with mirror lockup and timer to see the results. I bet its WAY better. This is using my 100-400L with a Canon MKI 2x tele on it.

Thats a nice shot there, yeah get out there early. It's alot easier when the moon is practically horizontal to you.

thats pretty good for handheld, 800mm, and 1/60sec. I'm sure using the pod will make a big improvement though

Thanks guys! I was laying on my back with the entire weight of the camera on my face!

That is also at 50% of the full picture, which makes it appear a bit more sharp than it is at 100% crop. I'll have to give it a try today on a tripod earlier in the night. Anyone know how to turn on Mirror Lockup on a 10d??! I am looking and it appears to be a custom function you have to setup.

If I remember right, you are correct. You have to go to the CF menu and scroll through until you find the MLU function.

With the 100-400 and a 2xTC you have to manual focus too, correct? Or do you have the pins taped on your TC?

Nice shot either way. Did you do any sharpening in PPing?
