Got a call yesterday from my bud, let me know his local pigs have been making their appearances. After work I quickly made some space in the back of the truck, loaded the cooler and went.

Usual deal, they came out at last light - a few sows with youngun's and one solitary meat sized pig. 75 yard shot with the .300 win mag dropped him hard.

Prolly just over 100 lbs, young boar, guts fat with young green grass.

Off the shelf Federals with the 180 gr. Grand Slam.

As you can see (and imagine) at 75 yards, left a nice hole and a bit of blood.

Hills near Salinas, the area is over-run, but they are way spread out with all the water and food everywhere.
