I checked the Utah hunting page and the antlerless apps will be available May 27 th online. It looks like bunch of cow elk tags will be available. I remember a post here last year about this hunt. Is anybody putting in for it this year.

Hi Brian...I think you and I talked about antlerless deer and elk hunts last year. I usually put in for the elk.

Yeah DoubleD its all coming back to me. I didn't put in last year because we got drawn for buck deer and I had a trip going back east. This year is a diferent story and I plan on getting in on the draw. The funny thing is I have hunted Utah at least 7 times and never seen an Elk within 500 yards. Last year in Panguitch I actually saw more fresh elk sign than deer. Saw tons of sign but no elk. Are you going to rifle hunt or bow.

Hi Brian...We usually go for the late rifle hunts up by Dutchesne. The area we go depends on what time of year the hunts are held. Some years the hunt is early and coincides with the deer hunt. If thats the case, the area gets pounded so we go to another area. I've had my best luck during the first week of December. Hunting elk is a little different from hunting deer, which may account for why your not seeing them. PM me your phone number and we can talk more if you like (I'm local)....doubleD
