Also any location names would be nice to since I have never been up there. He doesnt hunt so he dont know nothing about hunting but I would really like to go hunting when I get up there so info would be appriciated..

I've seen one hog killed along I-80 east of Sac, but never seen anything as far up as Grass Valley. Wouldn't be surprised to find some relatively nearby. Can't help with place names, as I don't know any, but maybe someone here will either post up or send you an email.

I personally do not know of any piggies in that region, but if you are looking for a hunting ranch that is close by, there is one in Glenn and/or Colusa county (not too far from Sac). Never hunted there. I think it is called Antelope Valley Hunting Club or something like that. Do a google search for it and see what pops up. Hope this helps.

I hear there are a few around Spenceville Wildlife and Rec area (BLM) but I think they are VERY few and far between. There are plenty of birds there depending when you hear out that way. It is located off HWY-70 just south east of Beale AFB. Check the regs because Spenceville is a little different from national forest.

I have seen rooting and pigs on private land southwest of Penn Valley, just west of Grass Valley.

Ask NorCal, he might take you to his spot, yah never know, you might see 200 pigs with him and they might all be 500 pounds. Heck, he'll even butcher it for you for free. Just don't tell him you're from the city.
