Hey guys, just got a new toy ,454 Casull, and was thinking of using it for pig hunting. Anybody ever dropped a pig with one of these, the bullet sure looks like it will put a whole lot of hurt on a little piggy. Let me know what you think, Thanks,

Hi
I have hunted with my Casull since 1988 or so. I have a 7 1/2 " Freedom Arms
with the magna porting.

I can honestly say that I love this gun. I have shot many of hogs with it both
from close up and up to 100 yards away.

I shoot the 240 grain hollow point but want to move to a 300 grain soft point.

I have not done it yet because I still have a few boxes to shoot.

I shoot with open sights today because I do alot of my hunting in the brush.

Hard to shoot pigs in the brush with a scope on your pistol.

I think you will be very happy with it overall.

I have seen him in action with his .454 and the result is deadly.
I have shot pigs with .357 and .44 especially 300gr soft point on .44 shooting at 1300fps through my ruger(guys don't do this with any .44 mag because i've seen some .44's had shown sign of extream pressure and you need to work it up) but .454 will be my choice if I can start all over again.
Any of you want to trade your .454 to some of my firearms? lol
