dc83,
I will be bowhunting pendleton this year. The season starts Sept. 3rd up there. I have been hunting Pendleton for the last 5 years and its a good place to hunt.

I will be rifle hunting the base. I need to hit the Game Wardens shack and put in for my areas still. Hit me up as I am also looking for a partner.

dc83 I need to get over there still. Been pretty bad about it. I am hoping they will let me just grab my tags again this year as I have hunted the base before. I may go to Vandenburg. More sucess and less preasure from what I am hearing.

You can't just grab your tags from the base this year like the past due to the new licensing system. You have to go to Warden's office to get a letter to mail in or take to the DFG office off of Ruffin Road.

Camp Pendleton is listed as a G-10 tag under DFG. The base is open for hunting on weekends and holidays for hunting that includes small game, deer, dove, qual, duck and coyotes. Bowhunting is for deer and small game; all other animals must be taken with firearms. There are numerous areas open any given weekend but they do change often due to training on the base. The base hunting is available to active duty, retired and DOD personnel.

To obtain a permit you will have to go to building 2648 the Wardens office and obtain a base usage permit ($20). The warden will then issue you a letter (this year only) to mail in to DFG to receive your tag via mail or you can take the letter to the DFG office on Ruffin Road and they will issue the G-10 tag. The base will start selling the G-10 tags once they get the training on base at the Exchange on how to work the new ALDS. As far as tags I'm not sure how many will be issued this year.
