since i no longer live in CA i am looking for a place to hunt hogs close to IA where i live now. there are a few hogs here but i am looking to use the dogs so i thought Missouri or Arkansas would be better. anybody know of a spot.

They're wacking hogs south of FOrt Leanard Wood in central MO. On the fort too. You have to take a safety test and get a license for the fort. Watch a video sort of thing and then go hunting.

Down by Mingo swamp in SE MO there are some being taken. It's tough on public land in MO, not many hogs.

AR would be better.

Check the wild hogs in SE Iowa. Someone turned a bunch loose there and I saw signs asking hunters to shoot them on sight. They don't want them like MO. I asked the relatives in Muscatine if they had seen any and they said there were pretty scarce. All the cousins I talked to who were driving combines or carts harvesting the corn and beans. They work into the night so they would know best if the hogs were out.

i figured i would have to go further south. i might have a chance on public with the dogs. it not really any further me go there than me going from l.a. county to marysville to hunt hogs. thanks for the direction.

Check out OK too, there have hogs there too. Not sure about KS

OK would be a doable drive. come spring i need to put in the bay and catch pen for the dogs. i went to baydog.com and they weren't advertising hogs for sale and the only ones i can buy as of right now are in nor cal. but who wants to haul 4-5 hawgs 1500 miles.
