Anyone ever use cross country outfitters?

Hey Guys, I'm new to this. I just bought my son a Ruger #1 - 7 mm mag and I'd like to take him boar hunting in the next few months, or perhaps in the spring. (Don't worry, he can handle it, he's 16 and 6-2 205). I was looking on the web for guides in the Calif. central coast area and came across this web site Cross Country Outfitters The price seems reasonable. I just wondered if anyone's had any experience with these guys. Any info would be helpful. Thanks in advance!

Looks a little steep to me. You can get a gauranteed hunt for $425 without lodging, which is what they are providing. Their was a tread about this a while back. Some of the best ranches do not have web sites. Check the hog hunting links for more info. From what I have heard this is a good guide service just not the best deal around.

Also check into the pig-o-ramas. $300 for an unguided pig hunt. Great sucess rate and access to a huge ranch with all kinds of wildlife.

Many ranches have things for you to do after you shoot a hog. If memory serves me this ranch does not.

Went on my first guided hog hunt with August Harden of Cross Country Outfitters a little over a week ago.
Please refer to my previous posts with comments and to see some pix of my pig.
Had one of the best times of my life, August is one hell of a nice guy and made the hunt really enjoyable.

You are absolutley corrent, as once you harvest your pig your work/fun is finished on the ranch.
After killing my sow on Saturday morning me and the non-shooting buddy visted several of the finer restaurants in Paso Robles and also in Templton for lunch and dinner, we also took a drive to San Simoen thinking we would check out the Hearst Castle but you had to have prior reservations, on the way back to Paso Robles we stopped at one of the many wineries in that area for some wine tasting, and before picking up my meat on Sunday morning back at the ranch we visited the Mission in San Miguel.
