Tholihan, try posting some information about yourself in your profile. Most hunters don't pass on hunting locations private or not. And when they do it's to hunting buddies they come to know over some time. So, shop around, volunteer, join organizations, and generally be sociable, find a rancher you needs some help on a paticular project, come up with a project you think he might like, it'll happen, patience. and stick to it.
God I sound like my Dad.

Screw it!! I'm going huntin' too. I just bought my tresspass fee. I'm taking my boy with me. I'm not sure what the weapon of choice will be. All these decisions, it's tuff when you've got prime huntin' ground just a couple of miles from where you live... That's right guys, Friday at noon I'll be huntin'. Have any of you guys heard of this place, RB-BBC...??? I found it on the internet, but as funny as it may sound it's also been advertised on T.V.

I'm headed to Ringling Bros.-Barnum and Bailey Circus....I guess I'll have to use my video camera for this hunt. Hey, I know it not quite up to par with you private ranch aristocrats, but heck I'll get to spend some time my the kid.

LOL - good night now!

Wow! This thread is better than Jerry Springer!

I wish we still had wild hogs in AZ. Used to be some SW of Flagstaff , but the Game/Fish sent folks out to eradicate them 15-20 years ago. ABout the time I found out about them they were all gone.

What time of the year do you guys sugggest making a trip to hunt hogs in CA?? A friend told me the summer is hot but pigs are in large groups at that time feeding in the barley fields-although the sows usually have little ones along; and in the winter the weather is great but the hogs are in small groups and there are no nice fields to see them feeding in?

AZ, I recommend coming out in May to join the JHO gang at Tejon Ranch for our annual Pig O Rama.

Seriously, that hunt is a blast, but if you're looking for alternatives there's a lot to be said for almost any season.

Spring has 'em out getting fat and sassy on the new growth. Summer tends to concentrate their numbers around water and food sources. Fall, in most of the CA pig country isn't much different from summer. And winter is great when the rains and weather come in to get them out feeding and scattered again.

Fresno? Hey I almost forgot Fresno has a good hog population.

I even have a family member with 100 acres and hogs a plenty.

Imagine that.

Maybe since I paid to get his truck repaired , then Smogged, and then bought him a set of new tires all on the company dime. Shane will let me come over and hunt his honey hole!
