Getting really excited here, 48 Dollar 5 day hog hunting license. I have a couple sites in Indian Hills Harbor, Avinger Tx
Right there at Lake O pines. From what I saw it looked damn near the Heart of the Hog ranches out there, shit Barrow My cousins motor home and we be hunting. But having a PITA findind a public land map of that area anyone ever hunted out there? saw a couple two for one hog hunts, but am always lierry of those, all wrapped up in extra charges.
Could really use some info on this, I am seriously considering it

That's way far away. My family all hunts around San Antonio or Corpus. The pigs are crazy out there. In hays county they used to pay the public to kill pigs.

They hunt private or public land, it is looking pretty the much the same as here, very little if any public land to hunt.
How can that be? the Hogs range is 90+% of Texas, there has to be something out there, if it were all private the goverment wouldn't give a damn and would be wanting to poison them

My family hunts a few thousand acres of private land. That's no trouble. I'm sure I could set up a pig hunt if it was worth it for a few of us to drive out. My uncle is in San Antonio and hunts not far from there. Other family is in San Marcos. That's the county that used to pay you 5 bucks a tail to kill hogs.

I have not but it was something I was looking into for a couple of reasons. There looks like their may be some easier opportunities to hunt with my father once before he passes as his heart is weakened. They allow baiting, etc. He couldn't even make it to the top of a single hill out here in CA. Texas also doesn't have a stupid minimum age of 12 to hunt pigs so if my daughter felt ready to go on a hunt she wouldn't have to wait till 12 out there as she would here.

Better get on it asap. Don't want to go that far for poison meat.

Looks like a trip is in my future. Will be out for a short trip in November. Not sure about the hog hunt yet. But it is going to be my birthday. Fingers crossed we can make time.

I know.msorry guys. Been a bizzy year. I just made a trip to Texas but no time to hunt. I am open to working on a trip with a few guys. We will just need to work out the transportation and hunt cost. Should be fairly affordable to put together. I'm thinking 3-4 guys will be good. I will reach out to my uncle and see what is needed to make it happen. Hope everyone is doing ok out there. Boots on the ground soon.
