From what i hear Hog Wild by coalinga is what they call semi guided. Archery hunts are $325 one hog or $ 400 for a chance at 2 hogs i think that semi guided means the guide will let you know were they last saw hogs then your on your own. check out at the top of this page in the hunting outfitters and guide reviews theres a lot of info there ass well. Good Luck

The only other place I have experience with is Chopper's Wild Hog Adventures (plenty of posts on this site). It's archery only, though, and I don't know what you're looking for.

Just curious, why are you looking for places "other than Tejon"? For $400 and a whole weekend to score, it's still one of the best deals going.

Non-guided, 4000 acres, chance at 2 hogs, great accomodations, & plenty-0-hogs.

AS, Chopper's rate they have on their website for 2 hogs or do you have to add more money for the second hog.

Speck, Camp 5 does not do any unguided hunts. I believe Easterbrook Ranch is the only one in this area that provides that kind of service. I'll keep my eyes and ears open.
Take care, Jim

PR is right about Camp 5 not doing unguided, by the way they raised their rates to $1000 for a pig hunt.

You might want to consider Wilderness Unlimited. They have two ranch's near Teachappi that have pigs and great quail hunting plus archery deer. They have many other ranch's has well. I have seen a lot of pig sign and two pigs. I can't say I got any but more skilled hunters then I have. Plus you can hunt other critters has well. Its not canned hunting you get access and if you want to hunt on your own no problem. The best ranch's have of course grain barley being the favorite but they will have guides. If you like to hunt a lot this might be the way to go.

Thanks for all the info guys.

Speck, I really love the Tejon hunts, but they only have a few a year, so I was looking for something that I could go to on myown time.

Ahh... that makes good sense. I was afraid maybe you'd had some difficulty with them or something.

If you are still looking, you may be interested in Cedar Canyon Ranch. It is in the Tehachapi hills. They have a web site so check them out. It is right next to two of the WU properties mentioned earlier. I have been on the WU properties (Benz Ranch and Cummings Ranch) and have seen hogs on both. Remember, the WU properties have a membership requirement but gets you an over 100 ranches around California and Oregon. Well, let us know what you do and how you do..

Good luck,

Thanks for all the heads up on things, but I just found out that Tejon will do hog hunts for hunter groups from 8 to 12 in size, you just have to book it with Barbara. It's only 500 a person and depends upon availablity of the ranch.

Link4hog, Got anymore info on this stuff you wrote below:
