Can you be more specific? Like which state you are thinking it might be in. I did a search on MSN and Google, there is a Moore Ranch hunting service in Texas. I take it you are looking for a Moore Ranch in California?

Or........where did you hear (or read) about this Ranch? Did you go back and check your source again to see if maybe you got the name wrong or ??????

I truly didn't mean to come of as critical. I read last week in this forum that someone else had great success at Moore Ranch and was simply hoping it was here in Cali.
Next time I will be sure to provide more info or at least be more specific.

This topic caught my eye because i talked to a guy at a job site, and he mentioned MOORE ranch over by half-moon bay, i did extensive searches on the web and found nothing in calif.
i went back and asked him again and he could not remember the exact location other than it was just south of half-moon bay and it is private but he will allow people to hunt his land. i have not had the time to just go and drive down hwy 1 and look.

Do a 'yahoo' search for moore ranch hog. You will find that Mr. Moore had a ranch in CA, and a little history on feral hogs in CA. It was not referred to as 'Moore Ranch', but Rancho San Carlos.

Here's one of the Website Hits.

So, you may still want to go back to the other BB and ask the originator what exactly they were referring to when they spoke of a Moore Ranch.

First post here at the this forum. This is a great forum.

Anyway, I went hunting at Moore Ranch 6 weeks ago with couple of friends from the Bay Area. I am from south CA, and not that familiar with the area.
Yes, Moore Ranch is in Montery County, Central CA, near the it is around 5,000 arces, a few miles off the 101 interstate Highway. We went on one day hunt with a local licenced guideman, saw lots of pigs and got two of them around 150-200 lbs. It is a great ranch with a lot of pigs, saw a few deers also. Will find out more info from friends and will up date later.
BTW, it is about 3.0-3.5 hrs drive from the Bay Area (hwy 101).
