I was just wondering if anyone has subscribed to the Hunting Fool? Either past or current? I ask because I am thinking about subscribing but want to make sure that before I spend $100 for the year that it is worth it by providing useful information.

I do. its not the only thing I use for putting in for draws, but its one of the many resources that help me come to my decisions. I put in for me, dad, gpa, and brother, so I think its money well spent. Its also a good resource to use to select where NOT to put in for, which can be just as valuable :)

I did a couple years ago but cannot figure out how it is worth $100 a year. All of the info is available by doing research on States F&G websites. So no, I don't think it is worth the cost of the subscription.

The main value is if you get drawn they will send you a list of other members that have been drawn, I have used that benefit a few times and got some good advice, most of the people I have called have been willing to spend some time on the phone and go over maps spots and things they learned. The owners and staff don't have much advice when we (my brother and me) have asked them.

not really looking to go trophy hunting. Trust me I wouldn't pass it up but more looking to find a spot that I can draw every year hopefully (otc is fine). I prefer remote spots where so time walking puts you in a good place.

It's worth it if you put in for multiple states every year, and you have or are building up enough points to draw trophy areas. If you are looking for info on just a place to go hunt without waiting a while, and trophies aren't your priority, it may be a little much. I haven't seen a whole lot on easy draw/ OTC tags in Huntin Fool. Eastman's may be better, their MRS sections have some good info for each state on the type hunts your looking for.

I think its worth it if you're putting in for several states. Just another tool to flesh out the type of hunting you want to do! You can never get too much info, if you just want an easy draw tag this will help too!

Worth the $100. Anytime you draw a tag you can talk to previous hunters. I've been on both sides of the conversation and it was well worth it for me. I had hunters I've helped call me after the hunt and thank me for the 411. I put in for mutiple species in multiple states and can't possibly do all the necessary scouting to do justice to each tag in a year when I draw several.
