I would like to apologize to any members of this site who I may hav offended with my remarks concerning Chadster's request for info on Wilderness Unlimited. I should not of allowed myself to become so angry at another persons opinions. I was taken off of the forum by JHO for 48 hrs. and rightfully so. I now understand how these forums work and what can and can not be posted.

I do feel that these forum posts should be used for information and I will personally add my

in the proper format in the future.

I would like to add that although I was wrong with the way I conducted my posts concerning WU, I did NOT fabricate NOR did I lie about any of the experiences I had with WU or some of the members I met in the field.

257:

You expressed yourself very eloquently and it takes courage to step up to the plate and take responsibility for your actions, although this in no way suggests that you were any more out of line than the next guy. I was a member of WU for several years and had some great hunts and met some great people. But WU is not for everyone, in fact, it is probably not for most people, particularly those in Southern California who have a limited amount of time to hunt. But for some, it fills the bill.

On a forum in which people don't meet face to face, persons who would otherwise be tactful and courteous and reserved tend to go over the top, which is what seems to have happened here. I officially forgive everyone, which is within my authority because I know a guy who has an uncle who's next door neighbor once went to Rome and saw the Pope [from a distance of 1100 yards].

To change the subject and bring out the crying towel, how about this: It has taken me 20 minutes to write this pathetic post because my arm is in a cast and my eyes don't focus and my short-term memory is shot. A week ago, I was sitting at a red light in Encinitas [San Diego], contemplating my move to Kona, HI, with all the great hunting and fishing, when a black Ford Excursion hit me from behind at 35-40 mph and totally destroyed my 4WD Ford Pickup and me. Nerve damage, soft tissue, hard tissue---the whole 9 yards is shot, and I had an archery hunt and a trout backpack trip planned for next week. The driver---a SHE--was talking on her cell phone and apparently I was in her way. While the paramedics were working on me and the deputy was trying to interview her, she was still talking on her cell phone. The deputy told her [ORDERED her] to put away her cell phone, and she got pissed at him.

All I can say is that life throws some knuckleballs and there are a lot more serious things to bicker about than Wilderness Unlimited or the best cartridge for hunting aardvaarks. I'll be hunting again---someday soon, I hope---and I wish all the JHO community the very best.

Off the soap box and over and out.

We did go over board and we both went over the line. and for that I am sorry.

I am sure we will never see eye to eye on this and that is way there are different strokes for different foci’s.
I normally throw in my

if it is on a subject that I am well versed. And that is where I went wrong.
I know no one likes to her some one brag about something they don’t like, just as much as no one likes to hear someone bash something that they do like.

I am sure you dislike the club just as much as I love it.
Just as you might think it cost too much, I wish they would double the cost.
Some like salt and some like pepper. It is not a winnable argument.

They should just ban the subject all together. But there are about 30+ WU members here and most will never even touch the subject because for every one that dislikes it, there is another that will love it.

Hope you like it here on JHO.

and I would like to invite you to the SOCAL Waterfowl Day, I own you a drink

Outdoorplay - Sorry for all the heated words I spat out at you on the WU post. You are might be correct that we will never see eye to eye on this one subject, but you know we both love to hunt and that should count for a lot. Our hunting fraternity is shrinking every day and we need to make sure this sport of ours lasts for another 100 years. By the way, did you get " disconnected " for a couple of days like I did? Anyway good hunting to you and the best time of the year is coming up. Sept to Jan for a hunter is like Christmas Day for a child.

Doc - I am sorry to here about your mishap. I know the goal of going hunting on the Big Island will make you recover quickly. We were in Kona in 2003 and I truly loved the place. I had a chance to talk to some people there who hunted for sheep and pigs. I hope to go back soon to try the hunting out.

Have a quick recovery. Was the gal that hit you a "Blonde"?

Good hunting to all.

Hey Rancho - I thought hugging was ok up in Bonny Doon.
<
Is the pigeon hunting any good in Bonny Doon anymore? Years ago the pigeon hunting was really good. We hunted above I think the name of the creek was Liddell, not sure if that is correct. Now with a two bird limit it is not even worth the drive.

ps. - What ever happened to Gray's Gunshop there just before the 41st ave turnoff?

Turbo pigeons are fat up here. I haven't found a place to hunt them yet....The neighbors here might get a little pinched at a 12 gauge going off.
