Started out look 4-5000ft. Saw one bear driving home Friday night around 5000ft. . Too late to stalk. Went up high hoping for some deer movement Saturday. Crazy 40+ mph wind and sideway stinging icy rain . South wind so we worked north side timber pockets. Didn’t see a thing. Lots of older deer sign animals are deeper in than we looked lol

I'm going to start at 7000 this Thursday and hike up to about 8,000 through Kaiser and spend 3 days with my kids and then next week I found a spot with a lot of really old sign that I'm hoping they'll move back through and that's at about 9,000 and I'm going to hike along that past there and probably get up to 9500 or 10,000 and then that'll probably do it for this archery season once it opens back up in October then I'm going to move down to 4000 I found a spot in d8 that I like and I think it'll work good once it gets colder I found another spot in d8 that I really like but it's going to depend on whether or not the road gets snowed over

Its unfortunate that there isn't an early muzzleloader bear season in SoCal, that would be awesome.

A few acorns started dropping up at altitude last week. Unfortunately, my target usually shows at night and I haven't been able to call him in during shooting hours. Will look around again this weekend to see if they are pushing into the oaks now. Kinda resigned to the fact that it may not happen before rifle.
