My father and I are trying to plan next years trip to Idaho to hunt Elk with our archery equipment and had a couple questions. I was reading on Idaho Fish and Game website that a non resident/resident has to obtain a arhery permit in order to hunt with archery equipment. But has no information on how to obtain one.. I can buy my license and tag online, but how do I get the permit?

There's a couple spots that we are narrowing it down to. Couple years ago we hunted the middle fork zone off of zone 27 I believe. We were in Challis/Salmon area. I have also been told that the McCall/yellowpine area holds some good animals. With the non-resident tags going on sale a couple days ago, I think we are going for the Salmon Elk A tag to hunt bull elk in zone 36B with archery. Ever hunted any of these areas? Thanks for the link BTW.. WOuld you happen to know whats the turnaround on the permit, I mean how fast would I get the permit after sending info?

When I faxed my affidavit to F&G they had it processed fairly quick. I bet it would take less than 3 days. I haven't hunted those areas, mine are more to the east.
