Arizona 2004 hunt regulations

Should be available online within the next 7-10 days. The commission meeting is tomorrow. That's when this years hunts will be finalized.

We've had decent moisture this year in some areas, some areas were dry. Elk numbers are real good. Lot's of BIG bulls were killed last year during the early hunts. The rut was awesome last year and fell right into the archery season and the previous years hunt was a bust, so there were lot's of older bulls. Still lot's big ones left though.

If you know anything about where the fires that AZ has had in the last few years , those areas are ready to start kicking out some monster bulls.

Are the Arizona seasons confusing, just a little, or is it me. I'm going to be putting in for Javalina in October 04, and then buy an OTC deer tag, this is going to be for the JHO hunt in January of 05, if we have one

. Now, since I would have already purchased a license for 2004, can I put in for the draw for a cow elk hunt for 2005? This is the part that's confusing to me, buy a license in 2004, but it's good for hunts in 2005 as well, is this right? I know Ca, kind of does it the same way. I guess what I need to know is what time frame is the license good for, from what date to what date, then I can assume, any season that falls with in these dates you can hunt with that years license, is this correct?

Coues, can you suggest any areas good for a cow elk hunt, draw wise and success wise? Just looking to put a little elk meat on the table. This would be for a rifle hunt, but if there are better draw odds for archery, it could be a possibility as well.

MEL:Az hunt lic are good from Jan 1-Dec 31 for said year.To apply for this FALLS Big Game hunts YOU will need a "04" licence.

When appling for the Spring hunts,Havelina and Turkey,applications are sent in Oct of say "04" to hunt in Spring of "05".Your Licence then would be for '05"and could apply for Fall hunts in "05".
