These little guys are called pardilotes. They nest in tunnels they dig in the banks of creeks or compost piles. I have them nesting on my deck in an old planter. They have raised one clutch already and are now topping up to get in a second before summer sets in......

The first pic I let the camera meter do it's thing and fixed it up post, the second I compensated by 1.5 stops and it come out so much better

What was the ISO setting on the first photo? It looks kind of grainy. I'm not criticizing, just trying to learn the fine art of ISO myself. I do like the clarity and sharpness of the 2nd photo. Tiny little birds!
