Today was an awesome day for ducks! A few snow flurries early this morning and then the clouds started to clear up. The water looks the way it does in some of these because of the sky, which looked really cool… I didn’t have a good vantage point to get a shot of the sky, so I didn’t bother.

I took over two hundred images today, I’ll post a few more as I get them processed. They look ok on my computer, but once load them on Photobucket and view them, they look like crap… I hope they wont look so bad here

Here's another 5

The Merganser in the first image had me laughing so much that I couldn’t hold my camera steady. It slid all over the place trying to stand up on the ice… it finally made it after a few minutes.

Nice job Paul!
Lets see, I spy bluebills, ruddy, mallard, golden eye, oldsquaw, and one other I can't ID???
4th pic down, upper right hand side facing the camera, orange tip on the bill, white ring around neck. Not sure what kind of duck that is. Anyone????

Thanks again DEERSLAM, and thanks Zach. I might have a better pic of that duck Zack... I'll look for it.

These next three images are of the same duck. He was going to land right in front of me and changed his mind at the last second… I don’t know why, lol.

Zach was right, they sound really cool when they come flying bye.

Got a couple more (not too many), I wish I could p/p them like they do on FM.

Zach, is the duck in the center of this next image the one you were thinking of? I think it might be the same as the landing duck in the second image (first post).... I wish I knew my ducks

If someone could ID the duck with the funny looking bill in the image below I would really appreciate it. Today was my first time seeing anything like it.

I think you're right there deerslam, but that ring is just a bit bigger than I've seen.

Nice job again Paul, you've got a lot of variety there.

Thank you Leod, and thanks again FredtheGad.

FredtheGad, don't worry about the sig... I usually don't pay too much attention to them either, lol. If you are thinking about a DSLR camera, make sure it is something you really want. I have about $6,000 invested in gear which is a low guess, and it includes a few things not mentioned in my sig (a single lens can cost more). For that much money my images should look a lot better, I'm still learning.

If you want to see some really good wildlife pictures check out this link http://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/board/41 I'm a long way from shooting on their level.
