Here are pics of my brothers 2008 Unit 9 bull.

He stalked it and shot it at 80 yards with his 300 mag. It kept getting up moving 10 to 20 yards and bedding. The whole time alert and looking in all directions. We were in the thick brush up on a ridge. It sure did not want to move, he said all you could see was the antlers when it bedded. It would get up. check the wind, look around, move a little and then bed again. Anyway it weighed alot. The butcher said it was the biggest elk he processed this season. Only a 5x? (one side was broke off from fighting) but heavy bases and beams.


My daughter got a shot a one, but no dice. Anyway, great hunt.

Congrats to your bro!

I hunted antelope in unit 9 back in '04 and saw a lot of elk. They were bugling like crazy at that time of the year.

Great bull. I was never lucky enough when I lived in AZ to get one, but I saw some beaut's.

That was the olden days and I'm too old to wait for a non-res. tag now...good luck next year and to your daughter, don't give up.
