My hunting buddy talked with the local Bio man (Carl) for the unit and he pretty much confirmed what we had been checking out the past few weeks.

Looks like its going to be an awsome season! Antler development has been the best he's seen in several years and the herds are real healthy. Even though they had rain the tanks are drying up pretty fast so the key will be water.
For those of you who will be in the area, your always welcome to stop by the camp and sit a spell. There's four of us who drew on a party tag (ORIGINAL DRAW) but due to schedule conflicts, will be filtering in and out at different times during the hunt. But hey, I'm in for the long haul

I'll be driving a 95 black landcruiser around so keep an eye out and give a holler. Good hunting to all!

Rock, are you rifle hunting or bow? I drew 7West Archery.........Good luck, it should be a good year and 5B is a good unit with lots of Elk........Good to hear the tanks are drying up a bit....

Ike, We'll be doing archery also. Have not looked at a recent forcast but hope we don't have any more rain, a drop in the temps would be nice though. Good luck to you also!

I was in 7E all day Saturday. It was in the 50's at 2:00 pm and drizzling. Didn't hear a single bugle all day, including after dark. Did find some rather impressive rubs though.
