A customer brought these over to have mounted on a plaque.
They're from AZ unit 27

Great mount!! Nice colour.

I've got a nice set I want to mount but dang those sculls are hard to put horns on.I thought of puting a bolt backwards into the base of horn, then drilling the mount down through where the horns go.Then secure with a nut from underside. But it's hard to hide the nut,and hard to have them look right whilst trying to drill or anything.I can't bring myself to do it.Any advice greatly appreciated.

Brilliant job.

An elk skull will work just fine.

Real simple. Bore out hole in the base of antler and pedicel, fill with bondo and insert square tubing.

I tried Epoxy with All thread in the antler and that didn't work.

I purchased a kit from vandykes and the antler angle just wasn't right. It can be extremely frustrating to say the least.

Glass eye, your artificial skull looks good.

how did you determine the correct angle?

Breck can you PM or email me a price for mount like this. My Dad and I have our Silver Medal Red Stags from New Zealand and with our Gold Medal Stags being mounted we weren't sure what we wanted to do with the Silvers. We couldn't have Europeans done because the antlers were cut off the skulls before we decided to upgrade our hunt with the Golds. Thanks.

There is no "one size fits all" the pedicle will have to be sculpted to fit.
Study the base of the antler and its angle.
With this non-typical elk it was quite challenging because the antlers have a strange inward twist at the tops, but by only focusing on the base and the brow tines I was able to determine the correct angle.
Sculpt the pedicle with aves fix-it sculpt. The hardest part is finding the right mix of paints to match the bone white.
