I posted in Coues forum but I'll do it again here! I got drawn for unit 6a muzzleloader elk, unit 21 Coues deer, and unit x9a Cal mule deer!!!

I guess I've been livin' right!!

I guess the Good Lord is looking down on me. Or he is testing me to see If I will be dumb enough (or creative enough) to go 6 Weeks after my shoulder surgery.

I guess I better get good at the one handed hold on my .44 Super Red Hawk.

P.S. My Daughter got drawn for the AZ cow elk juniors hunt in 6A & The 12A Kaibab juniors doe hunt. (3rd Year in a row!! )

I finally drew after several years going "o-fer." Pulled an archery bull tag as well as a rifle Kaibab tag. Leaving later this afternoon for an elk scouting trip.

My archery tag is for 5A; got back late yesterday afternoon from the Rim. Water holes are sunbaked, mud, or WAY low; bottom of canyons dry as well! Summer monsoons are just starting up there, but hit and miss. Looks like the needed rain is right around the corner; just hope it also doesn't bring too many new fires ...

Failed to draw this year...again! Brutal! My teenaged kids and my Dad all drew antlerless elk tags though.
Met a guy @ a bow shoot that drew an archery bull elk tag in a great unit, a buck antelope tag in a good unit, and... a Strip mule deer permit!

Got a letter today from USO, I got drawn ML Elk unit 6a. Nov 7-11.

I totally forgot, I really did, that my application fees were rolled over from last years unsuccessful draw.

I am now trying to figure out if I can hunt that area without a guide and still have a good chance of getting an Elk.

Anyone have any ideas? I have never been to that are before. Send me a PM if you have any suggestions.
