I saw a thread at another site that AZ wildlife agency may start allowing people to earn an additional point each year by donating time (I think a weekend's worth) to Conservation Projects.
I hear there's a big clean-up project coming soon on the 700,000 acre Boquilla's ranch in unit 10.
If true, my hat's off to AZ....great concept.
Also somewhat sad, was that on a recent Kaibab deer conservation project more Californians showed up than residents. Not only that, but Californians brought the bulk of equipment necessary to get the job done.
So, I'm not so convinced residents do more for wildlife than non-residents any more.
Again, if "Points for Projects" comes thru in AZ, I sure hope they statistically track the number of points earned by residents vs. non-residents....I think it'll be very revealing. I've long said I think that residents and non-resident hunting prices should be steeper to discourage the casual hunters who mostly sit in camp all day and both should be the same price.
