We were hunting the BLM land north of 64 the road that goes from Meeker to Rangley close to rd 77 that's where I took the cow. There was no snow in that area but we hunted the Jensen SWA on opening day and there was plenty of snow there. In Jensen we spotted a herd of about 20 elk with a real nice bull at about 1400 yds away, but as we were planning our stalk they got spooked by other hunters.
