back from elk hunt - no elk

well got back last night from an elk hunt. had some really amazing experiences and met a lot of great hunters and people. the area i hunted had more elk than people. most guys got elk. i would say around 80% success rate. many 6x6 bulls. over the counter/ no draw. i didn't know the area but learned a lot and know where the bulls will be opening day next year. beautiful rocky mountains and nicest people your could ever meet. i don't even care about not getting the meat after the great experience i had. i will surely get some deer and duck in the next few weeks to keep us fed. I learned a lot about elk hunting also. man they are tough animals. i did get 50-70 yards from a large 5x6 but only had a cow tag.
