Got to FHL around 4:30 am on friday and hunted tiLL saturday evening. Saw a LIL more pig activity in TA 27. On saturday evening i was in TA 27 driving to were i saw fresh sign. Their was a 4runner in front of me for about 15min. We got to an area were it Y off he took a right and i took a left... To make long story short when i got back to the check station the guys in the 4runner had a nice 180lb. field dressed boar. Other than that one other guy had killed 2 hogs in TA 29. That was it... Also checked out TA 23 and saw no activity or fresh sign. Whats up with these pigs ?

Nice white toyota and yeah you guys saw a group of deer with one nice buck at the Y intersection. It was a 4-door tacoma infront of you. And I heard through the vine that the tacoma came back and shot the hog on the same road that you were following him, about 200 yards before the Y where he went right and you went left.

Back in 1996 there was story titled, "The Jerry and Rudy Adventure" based on a true story. Jerry and Rudy were out hog huntin in a BLM land parcel called, "Stockdale Mtn." Jerry have been hunting the place a few times and knows the land pretty well. Rudy is a first timer there. The two buddies got to the parking lot before light and head into the trailhead with flashlight. Jerry told Rudy if he ever got confused on which direction to get back to the truck, just look up in the sky and follow the powerline back. The truck is parked right below the powerline. Later that evening a guy nicknamed Live2hunt arrived at the parking lot to do an evening hunt. When Live2hunt came back after dark, Jerry was standing next to the truck with his eyes concentrating at the trailhead. Live2hunt asked Jerry if he had seen any hog. Jerry quickly asked in return if Live2hunt had seen a mexican dude. Nope. Then Jerry began to get more worried. Jerry fired several shots in the air hoping Rudy would hear the shots. Live2hunt had to leave so Jerry gave him the home phone to notify Jerry's wife and to call the sherriff when Live2hunt get into town. Live2hunt drove to San Miguel and notified the sherriff. He then called Jerry's wife and told her about the Jerry and Rudy situation. Jerry's wife burst in anger and worry at the same time. She said, "I told Jerry not to bring that Rudy guy." Two days later, Live2hunt called Jerry and asked what happened. It turned out Rudy followed the powerline forward instead of backward. Search and Rescuer covered the whole Stockdale Mtn BLM and found no sign of Rudy. That's because Rudy was 30 miles(estimated by sherriff) in the opposite direction of his truck. Rudy got chased up a tree by an aggressive bull and spent the night up in a big oak tree. Morning came and Rudy climbed down the tree. He walked down the county road with his rifle slung over his back. He stood in the middle of the road and blocked a vehicle driving by. Two ladies in the vehicle stopped and he asked for water. They gave him water and drove off. Rudy continue down the road and blocked another vehicle. The guy in the vehicle stopped and Rudy asked for water again. The guy gave Rudy water and asked if Rudy was lost. Rudy denied it. So the guy drove off and Rudy continued walking down the road. Later a search rescue chopper came and picked up Rudy and rejoined him with his buddy Jerry. The sheriff report said the description given by the two ladies and the guy that gave water matched Jerry's description of Rudy. So they flew over and picked him up.
Sorry for the long story, but that bubblegum blue tacoma might make Rudy follow the powerline FORWARD!!!
