Back home...12 days, one elk, one shower.


I took a cow at 12 yards on the last day of the hunt, after passing on several others--I was looking for a big bull this year.

Thanks, Slinger was actually right for once--he told me to get the Badlands 2200 pack, and I love it. I took out 100 pounds in it on my first trip out and it worked great!

Best "day pack" I have ever used!

Hey LD, quit asking me for camp pictures, OK! Here you go...Oh, we did some bird watching too!

We had smoke one day from the wildland fire near Susanvile!

We were not finding elk in our normal places, perhaps because it was a very dry year on the East side. Some mornings we left camp at 0400, just to drive an hour to a new spot that looked good on the map or places that others have hunted before. Last year, we were into bulls everyday! This year, I did not see one...or hear one bugle!!! I was happy to take a cow after 12 days of that!
