Well, we went back to Techachapi again with all intentions of going back to Benz Ranch but were met by Phil (the caretaker) and he clued us into another location having pig problems. Soo, we quickly unloaded our truck since it was already almost 7:30 p/m and off we went. About 25 minutes into the hunt, Michelle, my daughter, hammered this 170 pound tusker with a perfect double lung shot with her .243. It went under 50 yards from point of impact and down he went. I was about 150 yards away watching her "put the moves" on the heard of pigs. It was fun watching her duck and sneak, poke up and aim...duck, sneak...than she went out of sight. That was followed by a BANG and a SQUEAL. There were 11 hogs in the bunch, only 10 got away. It is her FIRST large game animal. MAN AM I JAZZED ! ! ! We went back the next morning and saw about 25+ more, with one going well over 300 pounds. But, with one in the cooler, one from 2 weeks ago in the freezer, we passed and went fishing instead...she also caught the biggest Bass. This was all her trip and I am glad. What a great hunting partner I have.
If there is anybody with WU property access that wants a good tip, drop me a line. I will fill you in with what Phil set us up with. They ARE there.
