We just got back from texas last night. Had a great time and in total my dad shoot four hogs and I shoot 6 , 3 cyotes, 1 bobcat, one racoon, and one javelina. I shot the racoon the Javelina and two hogs with my bow. The one shoot was right between the eyes he must have jumped the shot because he was broadside when I shot. Had a great time and I wen 13 shots for 13 hits then another bobcat came by and I missed three times. We hunted with Jody Starr out of Fowlerton TX it was our fourth time to go there with him.

Can't say I've ever seen a bowshot quite like that one!

Congrats on what sounds like a blast of a hunt! You'll be eating well for a while, no?

I was using easton XX78 select shafts with a NAP thunder head 100grain. I did not get the broadhead back it would not come out of the skull and I just unscrewd it and left it in the head. That arrow was just about as perfect as it could have been between his eyes.

OK TEXAS SOUNDS A-OK TO ME. ONCE AGAIN THAT SKULL IS A MUST WITH THE ARROW STICKING OUT OF IT. THERE IS A LODGE HERE THAT HAS A MULE DEER HEAD MOUNTED WITH AN ARROW SHOT IN THE SAME SPOT. IT MAKES AN AWESOME CONVERSATION PEACE AND REALLY IS COOL.

I hate to tell you guys this but I left the skull in Texas . We came back on the air plane and I did not want to make us over weight. So it stayed in TX I never even thought of keeping the skull I took good pictures and that will have to be good enough maybe I'll try and keep the next one.

I'm leaving for a hog hunt in Texas Hill country this coming thursday. How did you bring the meat back and what was the weight allowance on the airline. Thanks

DukeMaster We cool the meat as well as we can and put it into ice chests that we ducktape them shut. The weight alowance is 50lbs you can take more for $20-$25 for the 70lb limit and another $25 for the 100lb limit nothing over 100lbs. All the meat is baged. Make sure not to use dry ice . They will ask tell them it will not leek and there is no dry ice. If you can take the ice chest and put it into a freezer and put the meat in that then it is frozen to the shape of the icechest. We use no ice what so ever. When we get home we put ice on the meat or put it into the fridge and then cut it up when we get the time like the next day.
