Just some birds from the back yard. All of the pictures were taken today (10/29/06)

We do not have too many Eastern Blue Jays around so it was nice to finally get a pic of this guy.

A Black Capped Chickadee, ton's of them around.

My best Cardinal pic so far.

A White-breasted Nuthatch, lots of them around

Gold Finches, lots of um.

Not too many of these around. In my field guide it looks like a House Finch (not sure).

A visitor from up north. A Dark-eyed Junco, only see them around this time of year.

Too many of these around. This guy was just hanging around, and trying not to get blown out of the tree.

Thanks Hideandwatch, nuthatches are cool little birds. Unlike other 'clinging' type birds such as woodpeckers and sapsuckers, nuthatches are the only birds which are able to move upwards and downwards while clinging to the tree bark.

Love your bird shots clutch. The reddish finch is a house finch I beleive. We start seeing quite a few of them in Texas in the fall and winter. When their plumage is at peak, they are almost completely red. Really pretty birds.

Thanks Trent, I would love to see some pictures of them almost completely red. They get a little more color to them here, but not too much.
