I'm heading up to Barker Valley, Palomar Mountain to do some scouting/hunting for pigs & deer. I've heard from Game Wardens that the pigs are there so I'm heading up there to take a look. I know this is a long shot but, does any San Diego hunters have any info on this area would be much appreciated. I've heard that if you stay near the San Louis Rey river, there's a good chance to see pigs

The brush is really thick by the river, I imagine any Barker pigs would prefer the better land near the hunting club.

I haven't been up there this season, last year there was some old pig sign but we didn't see any, last year they trapped and removed a bunch from nearby Warner Springs, so that may make a difference, if you have not been there before it's a long hike, carry plenty of water, it's not a big place to hunt but other hunters will push deer from the private land and east grade rd, it's the only water that I found in that area, good luck,

Man, what a trek. Thanks for the advice. Not much down there, didn't see really any sign of pigs down there. Oh well. Off to find some venison
