I needed a new pair of binocs so I did my research on what to look for. After I found that out, I realized that I could not afford any. What I did buy are the Barksa that you mention and I am very pleased. My research told me that for good low light viewing to divide the power into the MM and it should be 4 or better to have good low light viewing. That number for the Barska would be 4.2 and I can say that when I could no longer see with my eyes, I could continue to see detail of branches and leaves at 100 yardswith these binocs. The other items that my research showed was to have roof prism BAK-4 lenses, which the Barska has. I know that they are not as good as a 400 dollar pair of Nikon, but for the price I don't think they can be beat. As far as fog and waterproof, I did use mine in the rain this year with no problems noticed.

Thank you for your answer. I don't want to spend a ton, but have wasted plenty on cheap binoculars and don't want to do it again. I will go with these.
