This year, Wyoming Game and Fish is sending out a special letter and info brochure on bear awareness, containing "Hunter Safety Tips" for hunters.

They recommend not to hunt alone and to carry bear spray. Among other things, the letter states "Today we are seeing grizzly bears in places they haven't been seen for decades. Accompanying this letter is information on grizzly bears and on ways to avoid problems or minimize them if you encounter a grizzly bear."

For those of you that hunt Wyoming or other grizzly bear habitat - how many of you have run into a grizzly and if so, how did the encounter go?

I draw the Green River/Lake area every 3 years and there are known grizzlies in the area. That area is 1-2hrs south west of Jackson Hole... The guide I use knows of grizzlies in the area and yes they are expanding.

Looks like very few, if any, have had experiences with grizzlies, that's good!
