What are you hunting for? You won't find any wild hogs off of Bear Valley Rd

That's probably why it's called Bear Valley rd. And not Hog Valley Rd so get your self a bear tag.........tra

That's the dilemma with cali hunting so much private land and hog outfitters want an arm and a leg to hunt with no guarantees and public land is few and far between and gets so pounded.
Just be patient it's all about networking eventually u might hook up with someone on here or meet someone through your daily travels that might have some land to hunt or have good info.
Yesterday I had guest come over for dinner we started taking about my hunting and fishing adventures I gave him some of my D.C.A. bussiness cards and then he tells me his boss is into hunting and fishing big time too and has some land here in Fl. and south Carolina and he would pass my cards to them and get me hooked up, so don't give up.
Still as hard as public land can be still hit it up to hone your skills and senses of your surroundings it's just great to be out hunting no matter what and u might get lucky. U know what they say " when u ate looking for game animals u won't see them and when u are not looking for them u will see them, Murphys law sometimes applies to hunting. Good luck....yra

Dirt racer, sometimes you need to be more specific....the guys on here think your referring to bear valley road in apple valley. It's in the middle of the town. Not exactly huntable, and no pigs for many many miles away...where exactly are you referring to?

Guys I think he's talking about Bear valley refuge up north. Stop at the headquarters and ask ? Or start knocking on doors and hopefully one of the land owners will let you trespass with a certain fee you should offer. Most owners lease out there property to private guides so that's another option.

Yeah I think I missed something here. Bear Valley Rd goes through Apple Valley, its where my shop is. Bear Valley turns into highway 18 at whats called dead man's point going towards Lucerne Valley. Im not aware of any wild hogs or huntable ranches around here.. I have heard rumors of wild hogs in the river bottoms near the mojave river.

I think he is talking about the Bear Valley Road near Walker Ridge by Indian Valley Reservoir. There is a decent amount of pigs there, but I don’t know any of the guides or landowners in the area

Years ago we watched a rancher and his help working calves one turkey season on Bear Valley road. Guy walks over to see what we wanted. We told him we were just watching but asked about hunting. He said he ran a trespass fee hunt on 9,000 acres. Of course I lost his number. Said he took 4 guys and basically told you where they were seeing the freshest sign. On your own then.

I was thinking bear valley as in bear valley springs. We have lots of pig and deer and elk. But it's around 25k acres of safety hang out. No hunting. Only the bear valley cops can kill trouble pigs. Any and all hunting around these mountains will be all private land. Good luck out there. Have fun and as always be safe.

I hunted that ranch for a few yeärs about eight years ago, but the guide, who was also the ranch manager, moved out of state. It used to be North Powder Outfitters. It is an organic certified ranch, with livestock owned by Prather Meat Co. All of the animals, wild and domestic, are incredibly healthy and big. I doubt anyone guides it any longer, but we took pigs on every trip. At the north end of the valley, towards Stonyford, there is a bunch of public land, an ORV off road park, and blm. There are lots of deer and bears in the blm, too. I've hunted all around there, and in the orv park, too. Very dry and hot in the summer months, but decent animals for public land. Here's a big boar I shot on BV Ranch...

No bear valley up by lake county, sorry for the confusion.
So I replied to this yesterday, but for some reason it did not save. Anyways, about 8-10 years ago, I went on a few hunts on Bear Valley Ranch near Lake County, off of I-20. There used to be a guide from North Powder Outfitters that was the ranch manager of that ranch, who has since moved out of state. My buddies and I always took nice hogs there each year. The Federal Organic Certified ranch is leased by Prather Meat Co. All of the animals on that ranch were super healthy and clean with lots of hogs, deer, turkey, and coyotes. I don't think anyone hunts it now. I've also hunted north of there, near Stonyford for pigs, deer, and bear. There is blm around Fouts Spring Road, and an ORV motorcycle park where we'd hunt archery deer. There are good populations of critters all around there. It is hot and miserable during the summer months, but it doesn't seem to bother the animals much. Here's a boar hog I got on Bear Valley ranch about 9 years ago...
