Becoming an Outdoors-Woman/RMEF Scholarships Available

The Becoming an Outdoors-Woman (BOW), California organization is offering twenty partial (one half) scholarships to the popular multi-course workshop at Wonder Valley Ranch in Sanger, California October 22-24, 2010. Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation has generously funded these scholarships for women who want to learn outdoor skills but cannot afford the full ($395) registration fee. Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation and BOW share the vision of providing quality learning experiences for women interested in outdoor skills. Preference will be given to first-time workshop participants who are fulltime students, single parents of young children and/or those who live in low-income households. The full cost of the workshop is $395 and the partial scholarships will cover $200. The remainder of the registration fee ($195) is the responsibility of the participant.

To be considered for Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation/BOW scholarship aid, submit your completed workshop registration form and a check for your portion of the registration fee ($195) with this application by September 3rd, 2010. Your check will be refunded if a scholarship is not awarded.

Courses to choose from include fly fishing, fly tying, map and compass, GPS, trap shooting, personal self-defense, wilderness first aid, ropes course (confidence building), kayaking, outdoor cooking, archery, bow hunting, and exploring wild California. Registration covers two nights lodging in the comfortable 4-person rooms, food for the three days, all equipment for the courses, door prizes and more fun that you can imagine.
