It seems that AZ computers have overheated or something. My 9 sheep points are gone, my loyalty points for deer, sheep, & elk have disappeared and instead I have gained 7 points for bear and 3 for turkey. I have never applied for bear or turkey.

I just checked mine.

They are all there.

You better call AZ Game and Fish.

They are extra chances you get the following year if you purchase a hunting license and are not drawn for that species. So say you buy a license and put in for deer this year and are not drawn. Next year you put in for deer again you will have your name in the hat, so to speak, twice. It makes your chances at drawing a tag better.

With the computer trouble over the past three years AZGFD has had, this would be no surprise!

Bonus points are for lack of a better term "raffle tickets" of a sort. In Arizona if you apply for a big game tag and dont get drawn you earn a bonus point. You build these points every year you do not get drawn. You earn bonus points for each species you apply for and are not drawn.

Your bonus points act like a "raffle ticket" in a sense because along with your application your name goes back in the hat for each bonus point you have. The more bonus points you have for a species the better your chances are of getting drawn (or so they say; I am sure some will argue that).

It gets more complicated than this, but those are the basics. You can also earn loyalty bonus points and a permanent Hunter Education bonus point.

Checked AZ web site today and all is good. My points are back to what they sould be. I talked to other people that had the same thing happen to them. It is a good idea to print the bonus page summary and file it somewhere in case. The Az site says the form printout is your official copy.
