Big Bear Shoot is on! Cherry Valley Bowhunters at Jenks Lake. Aug 6-8 2022.
Hwy 38 is closed due to a mudslide at Stetson Creek. You can go around the closure by taking Middle Control rd just above Angelus Oaks down to 7 oaks. From there take Glass Rd back up to hwy 38. Then go lft on hwy 38 to Jenks Lake Rd East, there is a sign at the turn off. Go up Jenks LAke rd about 3/4 mile and look for archery sign on left. Its called East Flats.
If it rains a bunch tonight or tomorrow Middle control rd may be a mess. I would take hwy 330 to hwy 18 and go through Big Bear and back down hwy 38 to Jenks Lake Rd East.

Update from CVB thurs aug 4.
Update...Big Bear Shooters. Weather report looks good for this weekend. Targets are set and ready to go. 38 is still closed, we no longer expect them to open it. You may access the Jenks lake area from the 330 out of Highland or the 18 out of Lucerne Valley through Big Bear. If you are familiar with the 38 and are not hauling a trailer, you can get through using the mill creek (Middle Control Rd) to seven oaks to glass road route, that is shorter. If you have a trailer or don't know this route then DO NOT USE THIS ROUTE! It's gonna be a great weekend. Registration will be open Friday afternoon and Saturday morning. Finally, gonna want to get a doe tag!!! See you soon.
