BIG GAME GUZZLER HELP
Jim Matthews ONS
3/5/03
Two big game guzzler maintenance projects have been set for set March and April, and a large volunteer crew is needed for both events, according to the Society for the Conservation of Bighorn Sheep and the Department of Fish and Game, event coordinators.
The first is set for March 15 in the Riverside Mountains between Needles and Blythe. This is the Owl's Roost Big Game Guzzler, and a new tank, drinker box, and pickup pipe will be installed during this project. At least 20 volunteers are needed to complete this work.
The second project will be April 5 in the Cady Mountains north of I-40 between Barstow and Needles. The Cady Big Game Guzzler needs to have a portion of its old steel tank dismantled and removed so a new tank can be placed in the old shell. This project will need at least 25 volunteers to do the work and form a bucket brigade.
All volunteers will need a lunch, hat, drinks, sunscreen and anything else needed for a day in the field. For more details and a map to the rendezvous point for each project, contact Bob Campbell, SCBS volunteer coordinator, at (760) 244-6392.
