[attachment=41208:attachment]I took my good friend of 40 years pig hunting on a ranch in Santa Barbara County. He was with me 25 years ago when I killed my first pig and I wanted to return the favor as he had never killed a pig. We were concerned because the pigs were brushing up by 9:30-10:00 am in the morning and we only had a 1/2 day to get after them. We got into a group of pigs around 6:45 and Bob was able to pick from a number of large pigs to take. He was just about to squeeze off on a nice Boar when we spotted a really big hog in the shadows. He shot the big boy at 100 yards and all hell broke loose with pigs and cattle going everywhere. He hit the hog just past the soulder with a 7m mag and that bruiser still managed to run 50 yeards before he went down. The pig weighed just over 400 pounds. But get this, he had no cajones. He didn't have that rank smell that big boars can get. Yet even though he didn't have any stones on him he had been in a lot of fights by looking at his ears and the tusks. I managed to take a smaller boar of around 200 pounds about and hour and half later. All in all a great hunt for my friend, and me.
