with the recent rifle activity lately,it was time to pull out old faithful..
i took the bow out with the hopes of porking a good one.. with the weather being
what it is ,there is no better time to stalk hogs with the stick..hunted all day with no
targets aquired..late afternnon roles in and its game on, i spot 3 hogs rooting under
the oaks{imagine that} i get the wind right{which is your most important thing in hog hunting}and start my assault.. i cross an open field staying in a straight line..
work what little brush there is and wait um out as they are slowing feeding my way
.. at about 30 yds i cant take it anymore and draw the death stick .. this hog has no idea its about to be engaged at close quarters with a steel broadhead!!! i pick a spot
behind the shoulders instinctivly and let er ripp.. the unmistakeable thwack!! followed by a loud squeal and a couple of figure 8,s and the trophy is down
without a kick... man it was short work, upon autopsy, the heart was completly
eviscerated by the rocket steelhead,thus leaving the hog with no blood volume and
unable to retreat... dead hog, that feaking arrow put that hog down quicker than
any ive shot with the mandated copper crap.. might have to actually get some more arrows and start hammering them with the stick more often.. enjoy,and we'll post
um as we drop um:archer green::archer green::archer green::chainsaw:
YOU ARE CORRECT SIR, ONIEDA STRIKE EAGLE TO BE EXACT,
"UNCLE TED" USE TO SHOOT ONE ,SO I STARTED SHOOTIN ONE BACK IN 1990... HAVENT STOPPED:archer green::chainsaw:
fortunatly just me and the kids phil,i use to guide these propertys but stopped when i had the children.its become a full time gigg just taking out the 4 of them... i 'try'
to be selective on what we hammer..thus a pretty good population.but in reality
i,ll never shoot um out, like locus..dont get me wrong though..plenty of trips
with out even seeing a track... nice work at tejon bro.. !!!!
