Anyone tried hunting pigs at big sandy state wildlife area? Area is closed off for rifles and handguns so you'll have to hunt with a shotgun or your archery equipment. Just wondering, before I give it a shot.

Been many moons since I've been there. Doubt too many resident pigs, but probably a few passing thru to water or whatever. I am sure records would indicate lots of pigs taken there, but my guess is most of them came off private property in the area and the "hunter" put down a legal hunting area on the tag.

Anyway; don't trust someone on the internet to give you good info. Check it out for yourself, it is not that far away and would be a nice day trip even if you don't see as much as a track. Who knows, it might be a secret honey-hole!

Thanks everyone. If it was a lot closer to me, I would have gone already. It's a 2 hours drive for me. Maybe I can schedule a hunting and fishing trip in the very near future.

Let me know if you go, I'd like to get to know the area a bit better. We can split the gas since I see it going back up now :(. I'll be free the weekend of the 20th and the 27th.
