Anyone ever hunted hogs in the Big South Fork area of TN? Talked to the gal at the ranger office and she said they would be glad to have more hog hunters in there.

I know there are a lot of hogs in that area. I've never hunted there before, but might give it a shot when I'm visiting for the summer.

Rookies,

I don't have a map in front of me now, but it is in North eastern part of TN. About straight south of Somerset, KY. I run a sales route through southern KY and that is where I got the word there was hogs there.

I did a little checking when I got back from deer hunting today, and the season runs through FEb 29, then it won't start up again till later. Non res was about
$150 for hunting liscense and a $5 WMA tag. If you have a deer permit then you don't need the tag.

I don't think I will get there yet this winter, but I may try and combine a hunt for next year to get the most out of the non res liscense. I can be in Nashville TN in 4 hrs from here, so I may just see what TN has to offer. (Besides Al Gore) hehehe.

I did a search on mapquest, found out that its only an hour away from Knoxville. How can i find out more information about this place when im visiting there. Where can i find information on how many hogs have been taken there. Agian thanks for the information. I will surely look into that.

Rookies,

Don't worry about it, I've been called alot worse, :big grin santa hat:

Call the Bandy Creek Visitor Center at 423-286-7275. The season runs to Feb 29th. I need to get more info myself, but haven't had a chance to call. There is about $45 difference between full season non res. license and a 7 day license, so I think I will wait till next year and try and combine a whitetail and hoghunt.

If I find out anymore info I will pass it along. I do know there is no dogs allowed, so spot and stalk sounds like the plan to me.
