Going to be spending 4 days at Big Sur over the thanksgiving holiday. Has anyone hunted this area for pigs. If so where and how did you do.

Never hunted it...seen pigs on the southern portion near Silver Peak while I was driving up from SLO to go surfing. There's tons of hogs out there, go explore....supposedly Carmel Valley has lots, Arroyo Seco has some if you hike far enough in. I don't know I've never been there but this is what I've heard.

There are pigs in the area, but depending on where you are.
The "Big Sur" coastal area is mainly private property along Highway 1, and several National Park Campgrounds, no hunting allowed. The areas inland are steep to steeper, very brushy, loads of poison oak and few if any pigs. The pigs migrate between the good food on private property and their beds in the brush on public. It is very tough hunting, but if you get a spot with fresh sign set up an ambuse. Try Chews Ridge, Botchers Ridge or the others mentioned quite often.
Good luck...
