Biggest Ever?

Went back through the archives and found this one from about 15 years ago. Not the biggest I've ever killed...but a good truck load anyway. As I recall, this was 4 of 8 hogs we caught that hunt. Aah the good 'ol days.

My biggest was a 300 pound boar in Red Bluff. Boy did he stink up the kitchen when we cooked chops. My dog wouldn't even eat the leftovers.

My biggest tusker was last year on Wild og Adventures, 200 pounds and 3.5 inch tusk

Here is my biggest from several years ago. We guessed him at 250 plus.

Biggest maybe a sow a few years back 200 lbs. Still looking for a big ole fat boar with good toofas. Leon SPinks size ivory.

Russian hog. YOu'll see this pic in the bathroom at many Bass Pro stores. I beleive Johnny Morris the owner shot the hog. 1K supposedly. If you've ever been to Europe you know they have huge hogs there. I once saw one close to this size in the forest behind where I lived in Germany. People in town said not to walk i nthat part of the forest. It scared the crap out of me and I got in the car and got the heck out of there.

You know, I was just testing the waters again, and I showed that picture to the wifey and mentioned that if i got lucky at Tejon, I could mebbe put one of those on the...

I don't have a picture of the biggest ever which was about 10 years ago and I'm guessing about 350#. This one was from two years ago and we also guessed on this one that it was about 250#. Don't much care for the meat on the big boys, but they sure make for good pictures.

I shot this one over 10 years ago.
I'm the one w/the gun.
That hunt was cool b/c I took a buddy that had drifted from hunting w/me.
He got a hog and has not been normal since.
I'm trying to find some other pix, but my stuff got "lost" when we moved.

Shot this one at Tejon last year. Field dressed at 180lbs. 2-1/4" cutters. He's my avatar now. Hoping to find another one like him in June.

DILPRXO's boar was huge. He stopped at my house on the way home to drop off the skull, and I couldn't get over the size of that monster.

I never said that. If you go back and read my post I said "In my experience, I have never seen one get that big and I'm "Not Saying" they cant get that big. Here I'll even save you the trouble and repost it for you.

I do agree with you, Pigs come in all different colors. Black, Calico, White with Red Spots, Etc, Etc, Etc. True wild hogs sport certain characteristics, than domestic pen raised hogs. A domestic Yorkshire or Hamshire hog could turn into a true wild pig if it was in the wild, bred with different breds was dependant upon its environment to survive. I have a dear friend who runs a small farm 10 miles from my house. He runs Cattle, Hogs, Turkey, Chicken, Sheep, Etc. The hogs he raises are Yorkies and Hams. They are floppy eared, long snout, thin haired tame pigs. They truly look like farmer john pigs. If he didnt snap there tusk off at a young age that would have nice tuskers. Not all of the hogs I saw on that website, but some of them looked exactly like the hogs he raises. Maybe I'm just used to the thicker coat, shorter ears, shorter snout that I have run across in my 15 years of hunting these things. My very first pig hunt was at an operation that had about 600 acres. The group of hogs we glassed were a few hunted yards away and we put the sneak on them. We got so close we could through rocks and in fact we did to see if they would run. They kept there noses to the ground and kept eating. Those pigs we all floppy eared, long snout, thin coats. The owner claimed they were wild, they were no more wild than something I can buy out at the Chino livestock auction on Tuesday mornings. He was full of it and trying to make a buck. Some of the pigs I saw on that website were HUGE. I have never seen a Truly wild hog over 400lbs. Thats just my experience, not saying that dont get that big. I think I saw one on his website that was 700lbs + . Anyway you slice it, it's whatever the hunter is looking for. I'm not bad mouthing his operation at all. I have never been and I dont know what kind of business he runs. From the pictures I saw, it just dosnet look like my cup of tea. [/b]
