Superduty, saying a 1K pig is the biggest is just pointing out the fact that so far nobody has posted a larger one. If saying a pig is big is kissing butt, then you have a different definition of butt kissing than I do.
Hoghunter714, sorry if I misunderstood you. When you said you had hunted for 15 years and had never seen a Truly wild hog over 400lbs, it made it sound as if you doubted wild hogs could ever get that big let alone 1000 lbs. Describing pigs as bought from an auction because they look big, or because they have big tails or ears or aren't black enough or have spots, etc. just seems like a person is trying to stir things up. I think it's always best not to talk about someone or something you haven't personally experienced or at the least personally know someone who has hunted with that operation or guide. If you weren't saying it, then why did you say it. Saying I'm not saying X, Y, Z, but in my vast experience I've always noticed X, Y, and Z is the same thing. I'm just saying if I've never hunted with someone or known someone who has, I wouldn't say those animals look like ones I shot once that were bought at an auction. They look just like ones a friend of mine raises, but I'm not saying they are...I'm just saying they look like they are.

Chopper has a npic of a nice size boar, hoping someone got a copy of it to post since he will be off the net for a week or two...

boarhunter, I was just staying on topic. <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div>
What is the biggest pig that anyone of you has shot?[/b]
Spectr posted pics of his and friends which was on topic but to add alittle spice he referenced experiences of being other places that they harvest very large pigs from and posted a pic of such which is one that I believe you were talking about. We pride ourselves here very much but I think you missed your mark when congradulating Spectr on him having taking the largest. In fact I think mine was the largest. J/K
<
And when it came to moving a topic that happend in another forum to here just to take a cheap shot at Hoghunter then I felt the need to speak up. I rarely pic a bone with anyone but I read your guys previous posts elsewhere and felt you took it alittle too personnal. We all know there is Wild pigs over the #400 mark and I don't think he denied they exist. But if you do a search you will find out that the majority of us don't prefer hunting a certain type of ranch so without saying what type that is because I do not have first hand experience hunting that ranch I will do as you suggest and keep my tongue to myself. I just suggest prior to drawing a sword and taking a poke at somebody just because you don't like them expressing themselves without hunting that particular ranch that you double back and read what that person wrote and decide if they were infact saying there is no such thing as a #400 wild boar cause I don't remember reading that part.

You can persue this further if you please but you will not see me joing in anymore.

Superduty,
You're right about the big pig. When I congratulated Spec, I meant for having posted the biggest pig pic. It does appear that you have the biggest pig. As to taking the other post personally, I guess I did at that. I just get tired of hearing people talk b.s. and making accusations then claiming they didn't say anything derogatory. If someone wants to talk the talk, they should stand behind it, not make innuendos and infer an operation is a canned hunt just based on a picture posted. I say this having no stake in the place mentioned. I don't make anything, am not involved in their hunts or in anyway profit from defending them. I would say the same thing about any operation that I feel was attacked by someone who didn't have firsthand knowledge of it. To me anytime a person attacks hunting, it just divides us and makes it easier for non-hunters to also attack us. I've hunted with many people over the years and rarely disagree with the way anyone wants to hunt or run a hunting/fishing operation. I just don't like people badmouthing other hunters because I know those hunters, regardless of who they are, sacrified to get there and do the best they can. But as you said, I'm probably taking thing a little personally. I apologize if I am.

My biggest ever was about 200-225 live weight. Nice little piggy and still pretty darn tasty. I have only killed 3 hogs though. This picture is a little sketchy as the shutter cover didn't open completely.

I hope we get the chance to share a fire someday. Almost forgot to say obviously I am biast on my pig being the largest. These guys are posting some awesome sized pigs that make mine look like a hamster. I had a great tip with my loved ones harvesting that pig and can't wait to do it again.

Yes you guys have posted some pretty big pigs on this post. But I must respectfully claim the trophy for the biggest wild boar. Sorry guys.

Before you guys go crazy there is a story behind this little fella, and let me say now that it has a happy ending. I stalked up on a group of pigs for an hour only to be busted and charged by a 300lb+ sow. That just got the blood flowing(figuratively fortunately) Upon my blown stalk attempt I spotted another group about 500 yards away on the hillside so I attempted to get up on those guys. After another hours' stalk I hit the oak leaves and we all know we're gone after that so they bust me and start to head for the thick stuff, of course. Well this huge sow with about 13 piglets is in the back of the line and I'm only 60 yards off. So I say to myself , "there is no way I'm going back empty handed " so I take off running after the little ones and this guy was the last in line, unlucky for him. So I grab him and he starts to squeel and squeel. The momma stops dead in her tracks, turns around, snorts twice and starts walking toward me. By then I was in a full sprint away from them. I got back, showed them to my buddies and the ranch owner took some pictures and drove back to where I'd snagged him. We let him go and hopefully the mom will accept him back. I'll shoot him when he puts on 100 pounds or so.

I was sorely tempted to pick up a little watermelon like that at Chopper's this weekend, but momma was standing there staring a hole in me at 50 yards so I opted out.

Coyote probably got your little guy before he got back to momma, but odds are a coyote would've got him anyway. We're just two-legged 'yotes anyway, as far as the hogs are concerned. Here's to your getting another go at him when he's 150 lbs.

This is my biggest. 31 10/16" CBH. I shot him near Lake Sonoma. I spotted him feeding in the creek bottom just as me and my buddy topped out on this steep hill. I asked my buddy if he wanted to put a stalk on him and he said "No Thanks". I told him to give me five minutes. I slid down the grassy hill on my butt and heart shot him at 20 yards. I figured that he was about 100 pounds when I shot him. He turned out to be 250+. Ed F

All these pigs look great to me and I'm not just saying that. I love seeing pigs even if I didn't shoot them because the more there are, the more possible it is for me to come across more. Gets my blood pumping just thinking about it. Also, I got to thinking. Isn't shooting a smaller pig an indicator of more skill? Smaller target and all that? Anyone can shoot a pig the size of a barn, but to shoot a pig or even catch one the size of Cajackrabbitwcp's shows real skill. LOL.
Superduty and Hoghunter714, like I said, I tend to take things too personally. I hope to hunt with y'all someday on one of these hunts. Hopefully, I'll make it to Choppers one day. It's a long way away from where I live, but I'd like to meet him since I've talked with him a little about his beetle cleaning.
